USA, 2008

A design competition by the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art [SMoCA] for a new vision for strip malls typical of the US.

Concept: Market places were always a place of exchange of goods, ideas and stories. In this digital age, isolation is a problem. We redesigned the parking space to create a green park, inspired by Mexican culture.

Lightweight structures inspired by the Native Americans convert the roof into market places. Thus celebrating the rich culture of Arizona we also bring people together.

Out of 95 entries, from 46 cities, our project, with 24 others, was pick as a stellar project and featured in the exhibition.
