Souk el-Gharb, Lebanon, 2002
On a small site overlooking Beirut, this project was designed as a ‘winter’ house under the red tiled roof that expands out into terraces and pergolas for the summer. The winter house is compact and energy efficient whereas the summer residence opens to the breeze and landscape. Pergolas protect the large openings overlooking the beautiful views while extending the house to embrace the landscape.
